SDC37: Bookmarks- group one

Welcome to our next challenge on Stampotique Designer's Challenge. We are so excited you have jumped on over here to join us.

Our hostess this challenge is Kate Crane and here is what she has challenged us with:

I am always looking for ways to make art which is useful, something I can use in every day life so what better than a bookmark? You can never have enough of these ... I like to use them to mark pages in all of my favourite art publications! You can make any type of bookmark: A traditional straight bookmark, a corner bookmark, a swinging tag ... In any style: Vintage, funky, cute or weird. Anything goes! So go and dig out all for your favourite Stampotique stamps, it's time to get creative!

SDC36: Altering a Book Page

This week Valerie challenges us to try altering a page in a book - any book: novel, journal, sketchbook, cookbook, music book, coloring book, dictionary, whatever! Any book counts! Valerie said that she chose this topic to challenge herself to try something new. She said it worked too well and she found herself waaaayyyyyy outside of her element with this one but gave it a go anyway and she hopes you'll give it a go too even if you've never tried one before!! If you have Stampotique stamps already, we'd love to see how you incorporate them into this challenge. The entries for the red, yellow, orange challenge were fantastic. So many wonderful uses of these colors, there were many stunning scenes, beautiful tags and hilarious creations. Kaz top 3 picks for this last challenge are:

SDC35: Red, Yellow, Orange- Group 1

Hi there, we are back today to share group one's creations of our current challenge. As a refresher, here is what our hostess, Kaz has challenged us with.

"When I took this week for my challenge back in the winter, I thought it would be lovely and summery so I decided to set a colour challenge using the sizzling colours of red, yellow and orange. I should have known better really as I do, after all, live in England. It's been positively Autumnal this month. Rain, wind and grey skies. Yuk. So I'd like you to help us entice the sunshine back to help warm my cold toes!!"

August Guest Designer

We are very excited to announce our August Guest Designer who was randomly chosen from our fun Magical Mystery Tour at the end of June.

Help us to welcome Barbara Washington and look for her creations to start appearing this week here and over at the Stampotique Designer's Blog.

Hi! My name is Barbara Washington. Being chosen as Stampotique's August Guest Designer is really exciting to me. I have been in love with Stampotique stamps for a long time. I live in Chicago with my two wonderful grown daughters, my five year old grandson, eleven month old grandaughter, and four cats. Until I retired several years ago, I worked as a librarian in the local college system. Now, I can enjoy what I love to do which is stamping and paper arts. I began stamping at least fifteen years ago. It began as something fun to try, but it quickly became a passion. I love making cards, tags, and atc's, but I also love to make books and dimensional art. My style is somewhat eclectic. I love trying new techniques, trying new color combinations, and love using texture. One additional benefit of being involved with this art is getting to know so many wonderful and talented people.
