Featured Stampers: SDC9 - What Summer Means To You

A BIG thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy summer schedule to play along with our challenge this week.  It sure has been fun reviewing all of the entries as they have been posted.  You are all such talented individuals!!

As the hostess of this challenge, I have the impossible job of selecting a few cards to be featured!  The projects were so diverse and beautifully executed... and a few people managed to finish multiple projects - all just amazing!!!

I definitely have to send a shout out to MaryAnne Walters whose two energetic entries must have taken the equivalent of my crafty time for an entire month!  The results are beautiful, MaryAnne... thank you so much for sharing all of the details in separate posts too - fantastic!

Summertime Card by Miek
Next, I'd like to highlight the beautiful work of Miek Vugts-Coenders.  The color choices for her hot! hot! hot! card are so warm and vibrant, the  clever minimalist composition is very eye catching and use of white pen and stitching is simply charming and effective.  Very nice, Miek!

Shine Card by Sandra
This adorable card by Sandra features two nifty ideas - shiny sunglasses and braided ribbon!  The color scheme is soft and subtle and the layout is just precious.... a fabulously summery card.  Sweet, Sandra!

Again, thank you to everyone who cut boatloads of tiny images with sharp little scissors, glued for hours, sponged and stippled every edge and corner, completed multiple projects, and included the most ingenious ideas into their creations!  We love all of your works of art!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the winner of this week's draw as well as the unveiling of the next Stampotique Designer's Challenge!

Rubber smiles,
Val :)

Featured Stampers: SDC7 - Use a Template

Thank you to everyone who picked out a template and played along with us this time! Your work was just fabulous!!

I confess that I was so excited to host my first challenge, that I forgot all about the almost impossible task of having to choose a few to feature! Now I'm REALLY struggling to pick just a few - they were all so much fun!

The first one I'd like to show you is by Tracy Evans at Craft Addicts. She has used a tag as her template and traced around it onto watercolor paper. I really like the idea of using various found objects as templates! I had to laugh along with the sentiment that reminds me so much of my friend, Wendy, who has 3 children plus takes in an additional 4 children for day care.

The next project I would like to share is by MaryAnne at Scrappy Sticky Inky Mess. She took the plunge and tried a pyramid box - a template I've always wanted to try! I laughed so hard I cried when I started to think about a few of the "unsuitable suitors" in my past! Be sure to pop on over to her blog to see the adorable surprise inside!

The final project is by Donna Mundinger at Popsicle Toes. She has used Jokerhat by Kelle McCarter to top this ingenious box where the sides fold open to reveal a little box inside (check out the details on her blog). I like the idea of hiding a box in a box! Additionally, the playful use of color and ribbon as well as the shape of the nesties complements the whimsy of this project.

Thank you again to everyone for playing!
Be sure to check back tomorrow as the winner of this week's challenge draw is revealed along with the next challenge theme!

Kind regards,
Val :)

SDC7: Use a Template

It's time for another Stampotique Designers Challenge! Don't worry if you don't have any Stampotique stamps yet! Now's your opportunity to join our challenge using any stamps that inspire your creativity for a chance to win a $15 Stampotique gift certificate!

This week, Valerie Wilson challenges you to use a template for any part of your project (the card, something on the card, whatever) - or it doesn't have to be a card at all. If the mood strikes you to use a template that makes a box or a baggie or some other interesting project, please go for it! Let your creative muse guide you wherever it wants to go!

Also, please be sure to include the source of your template in your post on your blog to give credit... or include a link to it if it is an on-line freebee.

If you don't already have a hard drive jam packed with interesting templates like Valerie does (oh, she's blushing), here are a few links where you'll find some wonderful templates to work with:
